Hello Everyone,
This morning on my way to work I was in shock at the fact that the state of Michigan of the United States of America has put a ban on Affirmative Action. Sometimes I get in the habit of, oh, I don't know, thinking of "what if" scenarios. The Affirmative Action Ban is targeting the students at colleges and universities in Michigan, but I'm getting a bad feeling that it could give bosses and supervisors at work places ideas. This Affirmative Action Ban will probably be a cancerous sore that will badly spread throughout the country and damage and deteriorate the lives of American Dreams that we, the people (including immigrants who chose to move to the U.S.), worked so hard to maintain in the United States. Without Affirmative Action, this will open many doors not only for the return of discrimination, segregation and the famous Jim Crow, but also sexism and double standards. Just because there is a little change in the White House doesn't mean we can rest. Trust and believe, this is not the end of racism. This ban will have an affect not only on race, but among several other subjects. This Affirmative Action Ban will have an effect on everyone, including Caucasians. The people who voted for this Affirmative Action Ban in Michigan right now don't realize this vote will come back to haunt as well as bite them later on in the future. It sickens me at the fact that a lot of state representatives come up with ideas without thinking about the consequences. The people who voted for the Affirmative Action Ban in Michigan are forgetting the fact that discrimination does NOT have a one way definition. Today, discrimination comes in all forms, in many different ways. Today, the United States of America is a different country. Today there are so many minority owned businesses as well as minority owned organizations. Today there are so many minorities with money. Take some time to think really hard: What if a minority owned company or business that you applied for don't want to hire you because your skin color is white? What if a company or business that you applied for don't want to hire you because you are a female (it doesn't matter if you're and black, white, Hispanic or Asian woman, they just don't want a female)? What if a company, business, university or college you put in an application for don't want to hire or admit you because of your religion? What if a company, business, university or college you put in an application for don't want to hire or admit you because of the way you wear your hair? What if a company, business, university or college you put in an application for don't want to hire or admit you because you have certain or specific needs? What if a company, business, university or college that you put an application at don't want to hire or admit you because you are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender? Without Affirmative Action, all of the rights and opportunities that minority leaders along with other people work so hard to get throughout the years would be in vain. Without Affirmative Action, the United States of America would be promoting ignorance. Affirmative Action is what help all of us look at people as human beings, bleeding the same blood, having the same body organs, and grow together as one as we go further into the future. With Affirmative Action the United States of America will forever promote cultural diversity. What is most important of all that a citizen of the world is smart, intelligent, have progressive ideas, fun-loving, and aware of what is going on with the world. We all have ideas that will help America progress, but if we continue to look at the outside and be judgmental of people, the future of the United States will be in trouble. The United States won't get anywhere. As the United States of America, we all need to move forward, not backwards. Women, Minorities, Immigrants, Special Needs People, and LGBT please do something and find a cure for this cancer before it spreads and it's too late to fix it! Stand Up For Your Rights!
